This took me a few tries, a painted canvas hot sauce love note! I first saw this card and placed it on my pinterest “to make” board. I think it caught my eye because my husband consumes a lot of hot sauce and the Sriracha bottle is so iconic. My canvas is 8×10″ and as always I sketch very carefully to get shape and scale right. The lettering was tricky, I tried to mask my letters with painters tape, but it was so thin that the paint leaked under so I redid the letters witha toothpick. The long skinny letter are my favorite part I believe.
And now it hangs on the “I love daddy” wall.

Matroyshka, or russian nesting dolls, have been quite popular in recent years. Click here for innumerable images and ideas. I really liked a view of their graduating sizes, kind of like this one on my pinterest boards. So I painted a long canvas of the dolls and used features of many different prints and images to make each matroyshka unique. This picture is so quiet, there was actually tons of measuring and paper templating and pencil sketching to get the sizing right.
It hangs in our up stairs kids and guests bathroom and beams benevolence on all. Matroyshka dolls are very peaceful. The kids like to pick their favorites.
The three buttons and one flower are glued on and have dimension.
