Christmas garland

I thrifted this vintage Christmas fabric last year. I made the bunting after Christmas in a week of motivation, go figure. And I have been waiting impatiently for the Christmas season all year to enjoy it! I’d say it is the focal point of the living room.

7.5 yards of vintage pom-strung trim. Also good for garland.
A perfect vintage sham full of crewel and a touch of neon.

I keep finding them; colorful, bordered, never-used old timer cotton squares. I have quite a pile now and will be stringing them up for bunting soon. But I can’t decide whether to hang them diagonally, or a squares. what do you think? Here are two examples: Square-hung and diagonal hung.

Pinterest project-the first of the bunting

My preferred party decor is strands of yard and strung felt beads, but I do love bunting too. Take a look at all the bunting inspiration on pinterest!
This set of banners was made from a thrifted quilted jacket. $6.
Unique, right? When I cut the lining out the construction was double sided quilted pieces stitched together with raw edges. I cut a template from a cracker box and sliced out my triangles. This coat yielded 43 pennants and over 9 yards of banner goodness. There are a lot of mattress ticking type patterns.
I made it to hang in the master bedroom but it is not quite a perfect fit so I’ve listed it in my etsy shop.

Thrifted as a complete set, 226 fun alphabet flashcards with cute graphics and pithy sayings. Added to my etsy shop. Would be great with pieces in a gallery wall.
